Membership Requirements: Membership is open to all interested Stanford students. Faculty, staff, post-doctoral scholars (postdocs), alumni, and other non-student community members may participate in activities but cannot serve as leaders, members or engage in group decision-making in any way. They also cannot represent the group or the university. 

Leadership Structure: The leadership team consists of the executive officers (President, Vice President, Financial Officer) on the executive committee and three Events committees: The Social and Community Impact Committee, General Events and Partnerships Committee, and Projects and Hackathon Committee. Each Events committee has one committee officer with a set of committee members.

Executive Officers: The group’s three authorized representatives are: 

  • President: The President shall have general supervision and control of its activities and programs. The President is responsible for the vision and overall direction of the organization. 

  • Vice President: The Vice President shall assist and support the President in his or her responsibilities. 

  • Financial Officer: The Financial Officer shall have general charge of the financial affairs of the group. He or she shall keep accurate records of these affairs.

Elections: An election with all voting members must be held for President, Vice President, Financial Officer; people will be elected by majority vote. To vote for executive officers, you MUST be a Stanford student AND have attended one event each quarter. A Stanford student is eligible to run for an executive officer position if they have served in a previous position in the organization.

Leadership Positions: Anyone is eligible to apply for a leadership position (excluding the executive officer positions) in the organization. Applications for leadership positions will consist of a written application and interview. The current leadership team will select the leadership positions.
